Hails from Mumbai, Shilpa Shindey finished her graduation in Psychology from Mumbai actress. Later she joined dancing classes to learn some dancing skills. Just from her childhood Shilpa was much passionate about acting and wanted to make her career in the entertainment field.

She belongs to a Hindu family, her father is an advocate and mother is a housewife. She nowhere belongs to a film or theatre background, but Shilpa managed to convince her family to become an actress.

Initially, she was better known for her acting skills. Shilpa started playing as an actress in Marathi and Telugu films, unfortunately, she didn’t receive much attention from it. So she decided to try on small screens.

It was in December 1999, the gorgeous beauty Shilpa Shindey played her first role in a negative character in Bhabhi. Later she appeared in serials like Meher, Amrapali and Hari Mirchi Lal Mirchi. She gained the fame from Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai but the actress quit the show claiming that makers tortured her.
