Aasif Khan, the Mirzapur and Panchayat actor, has been evicted from Bigg Boss 20. He finished last in the Week 8 public vote while on his final lifeline, and his exit at the Weekend Ka Vaar on Sunday (1 November) leaves 11 housemates in the house. Nobody else lost a lifeline this week.
Why Aasif Khan Was Evicted
Each housemate entered the season with two lives, losing one life when they finish last in a public vote or fall to a twist. Aasif lost his first early. In Week 2, Wikipedia records that he, Rohed Khan and ScoutOP lost their lifelines after Mahhi, Kanika and Gullu respectively took them to compete for the captaincy. That left him six weeks on a single life.
He made it through until this week. Reports before the broadcast had pointed this way: Deccan Chronicle wrote that social media buzz suggested Aasif Khan has been eliminated from the show after receiving the fewest votes from viewers. Sunday’s episode confirmed it, and because he had no lifeline left, there was no second chance. Wikipedia’s season page now records that on Day 56, Aasif Khan was evicted through public voting.
From captain to the exit door
His exit comes just weeks after he held the house’s top job. Aasif became captain at the end of Week 5, when Love Gill was given the power to choose, and in Week 6 he used that position to nominate Mahhi Vij directly. By Week 8 he was in the nominations himself. Outside the house he is best known for his role as Babar in Mirzapur, and as Ganesh, the groom in Panchayat.
The Week 8 Nominations
Six housemates faced this week’s vote. Deccan Chronicle listed them: Scout Op, Gullu, Love Gill, Kanika Mann, Amrapali Dubey, and Aasif Khan were nominated for the eighth week’s eviction.
| Nominee | Week 8 result | Lifelines left |
|---|---|---|
| Aasif Khan | Evicted | — |
| ScoutOP | Safe | 1 of 2 |
| Amrapali Dubey | Safe | 2 of 2 |
| Gullu | Safe | 2 of 2 |
| Kanika Mann | Safe | 2 of 2 |
| Lovepreet Gill | Safe | 2 of 2 |
Salman Khan Returns, and Kanika Mann Is Captain
This was also Salman Khan’s first weekend back: Deccan Chronicle noted that Salman Khan, who skipped last weekend’s episodes, has returned to the sets, after Rohit Shetty stood in for him in Week 7. He went straight for ScoutOP. Siasat reported that a promo shows the host confronting him over his failure to stand up for Love, and that the conversation centres on Scout’s silence when Kaashvi accused Love of manipulating him.
The house also has a new leader. Mahhi Vij held the captaincy through Week 8, and India TV reported that Kanika Mann has become the new captain after a task Leisurebyte described as chaotic. Kanika will go into Week 9 in charge.

Arishfa is on one because she lost a life in Week 6, when, as Leisurebyte put it, the episode centred on Arishfa losing one life in exchange for 55% ration for the house.
