Bigg Boss 20: Mary Kom Evicted in Week 7 as Manish Goel Loses a Lifeline

Updated:

Olympic medallist Mary Kom is out of Bigg Boss 20. She finished at the bottom of the Week 7 public vote while already on her last lifeline, and the result was announced at Saturday’s Weekend Ka Vaar (24 October) by guest host Rohit Shetty, standing in for Salman Khan. Wild card Manish Goel also lost a lifeline but stays in the house. Twelve housemates remain.

Why Mary Kom Was Evicted

LatestLY, carrying the ANI wire, reported that boxer Mary Kom has been eliminated from the house of Bigg Boss 20, bringing an end to her seven-week stay, and that Rohit Shetty announced Mary’s eviction after she lost both her lifelines.

That second lifeline was the whole story of her season. Under the Tathastu twist, each housemate entered the season with two lives, losing one life every time they finish last in a public vote or fall to a twist. Mary finished last in Week 4 and lost her first. She then survived Week 5 — when captain Uditi Singh nominated her directly — and Week 6, when Aman Gandhi went out on his last life instead. Week 7 left her no margin.

Rohit Shetty spelled the rule out on air. As Deccan Chronicle reported, those with two lifelines will lose one, while those with only one will be eliminated.

“You are a champion”

The exit was an emotional one. According to LatestLY, Amrapali Dubey was left breaking down in tears, and as the housemates said goodbye, everyone came together to sing ‘You are a champion’ in unison, leaving her smiling. Mary entered the show as a retired amateur boxer and former Member of Parliament, one of the season’s most recognisable names.

Manish Goel Loses a Lifeline

Mary was not the only nominee to pay a price. Wild card Manish Goel also lost a lifeline at the same Weekend Ka Vaar. Because he stays in the house, he is now down to one life — the first time his lifeline count has been made clear since he walked in as the season’s first wild card in Week 5.

The Week 7 Nominations

Seven housemates faced the vote. Deccan Chronicle listed them as Uditi Singh, Amrapali Dubey, Manish Goel, Arishfa Khan, Lovepreet Gill, Kushal Tanwar, and Mary Kom. Before the nomination task began, captain ScoutOP used his captaincy power to nominate Uditi Singh, according to Leisurebyte’s episode recap.

Nominee Week 7 result Lifelines left
Mary Kom Evicted —
Manish Goel Lost a lifeline 1
Amrapali Dubey Safe 2 of 2
Uditi Singh Safe 2 of 2
Arishfa Khan Safe 1 of 2
Lovepreet Gill Safe 2 of 2
Gullu Safe 2 of 2

Rohit Shetty’s Weekend Ka Vaar

With Salman Khan away, Deccan Chronicle reported that the Weekend Ka Vaar episode was hosted by filmmaker Rohit Shetty instead of the regular host. He did not hold back: Shetty questions Asif Khan about his recent argument with Qazi Touqeer, the same report noted, putting Aasif Khan on the spot over his clash with Qazi Touqeer.

The house also has a new captain. Leisurebyte’s recap of the preceding episode reported that Mahhi Vij takes over the charge of the house as the new captain, succeeding ScoutOP.

Who Is Left in the Bigg Boss 20 House?

Mary’s exit leaves 12 housemates: Aasif Khan, Amrapali Dubey, Arishfa Khan, Gullu, Kanika Mann, Lovepreet Gill, Mahhi Vij, Manish Goel, Qazi Touqeer, ScoutOP, Uditi Singh and Yung DSA. Six contestants have now left the season: Rohed Khan (Week 2), Isha Rikhi (Week 3), Rhiti Tiwari (Week 4, mid-week), Nakul Dhull (Week 6, removed), Aman Gandhi (Week 6) and Mary Kom (Week 7).

Five housemates are on their last life going into Week 8: Aasif Khan, Arishfa Khan, ScoutOP, Yung DSA and now Manish Goel.
